“As I’m teaching, a student in the front row pulls his arms into his sweater and begins wildly whipping his armless sleeves around like an octopus. When I get distracted and as what he’s doing, he announces he realized that his undershirt was on backwards but his sweater was correctly, and he was simply trying to turn his undershirt around!”
"We are learning about potential and kinetic energy. While setting up dominoes, I ask David what type of energy is in the dominoes. He replied, ‘Pathetic energy’"
"On April Fool’s Day, my class of unmotivated, argumentative remedial students banded together: after whispering and eyeing the clock mysteriously, at exactly 10:00 they all spontaneously stood up and turned their desks 180 degrees around to face the back. Then they burst out laughing at their fun, innocent gag.”
"My co-teacher and I were congratulating ourselves on how successfully our students were working in groups when a table of students in the front of the class started shrieking and jumping around due to a spider. We both headed toward the table, me rolling my eyes while he said, "Oh good grief, its just a little spider," when the biggest spider I have ever seen outside Animal Planet jumped onto a student’s textbook. We both screamed our heads off and jumped back in horror - scaring both the students AND the spider - before regaining composure and capturing it for a science lesson the following day.”
